Career Timeline
June 1992
Having done a vacation scheme placement with another firm I decided to apply to work at an international City firm and accepted an offer for a training contract at Lovells.
March 1994
After a gap year I started my training contract at Lovells sitting in a variety of corporate, finance and dispute resolution teams. I recall being very impressed with the professionalism and friendliness of people across the firm.
March 1996
Qualified as a solicitor into Lovells banking department. For the next few years I worked on a huge variety of finance transactions in the UK and Europe including leveraged acquisitions, real estate finance, corporate restructuring and project finance.
December 2002
I acted for Tube Lines on its financing for the London Underground PPP, at the time the largest, most complex project financing in the UK. This deal had everything: complexity, size, high profile media interest and political sensitivity.
May 2004
Became a partner in Lovells Project Finance banking team while I was closing one of the largest project refinancings in the UK to date - more than a little champagne flowed that week!
May 2005
Led the Lovells team advising the Banks financing the $500million Sea to Sky Highway roads project in British Columbia, Canada. This was just one of many international deals I have worked on offering both challenging, ground breaking work and the opportunity to travel widely.
